The Junior Cycle provisional Results for 2019 will be available online and in the school on Friday 4th October 2019.
Classroom Based Assessments (CBAs) are part of the Junior Cert and take place during the school year. They take place for 2nd and 3rd years. This means that during 2nd and 3rd years students are earning marks every month that will appear in their Junior Cert Results.
They usually take 6 weeks each to complete and there is usually a practice run in the weeks before. They are spread throughout the school year as each student has many of these to do. Students will be informed of the schedule. At any given time our 2nd and 3rd year students will be doing several CBAs at the same time. The CBAs must be done strictly at the set time and no provision will be made to make them up at another time, unless they are missed due to a well documented medical emergency.
It is vitally important that all Junior Cert students have excellent attendance during the coming year - missed time means missed parts of the CBAs, and this means missed marks in the Junior Cert.
Parents will have noticed that Ardscoil La Salle has pushed the Attendance issue to the forefront, starting last year. This will continue more strongly in the current year. With the advent of CBAs it directly affects exam results on a day to day basis.
