I visited Trinity College on November 18th to take part in 'Taste of TAP.' A day dedicated to opening young student's minds and horizons and to give us an idea about what they do at Trinity, paying particular attention to their 'Foundation Course.'

We were given a choice of 7 lectures where we could choose to go to 3. I choose to go to Psychology, Study Skills and English. First up was Psychology. I found this lecture/introduction into psychology extremely beneficial in helping me to understand exactly what choosing to study psychology at 3rd level would entail. Psychology has always been an area of interest for me so I found the talk to be enlightening and intriguing. Next of all was a wonderfully helpful lesson on Study skills where essentially, we learned how to learn. This was great especially as it is my leaving cert year.

We were then given a tour of Trinity's beautiful, historical campus and given a free lunch in their dining hall. Finally, there was an English talk/lecture, As English is my favourite subject, I was very excited to hear about the course at 3rd level. We were given a poem and encouraged to give our own opinion regarding the subject matter, it was a lot of fun.

All and all I had a great day at Trinity and upon leaving felt I had gained a lot from attending 'Taste of TAP.' I will definitely consider applying to the Trinity Foundation course as well as putting Psychology and English on my CAO.
