ARDSCOIL LA SALLE WILL BE CLOSED TO STUDENTS AND VISITORS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
KEEP SAFE - KEEP OTHERS SAFE - KEEP YOUR DISTANCE
Local schools (in the Howth Deanery) have now applied through the Deanery form. However, each year there are a limited number of places for direct application to the school. Anyone may apply directly. The number of places is very limited, as Ardscoil La Salle makes a feature of small classes and an overall number which allows every student to know every other student. These 'extra' places are expected to be taken up very quickly. If you are interested please phone 01 848 0055 or email email@example.com .
The World is Run by the People who Show Up
Absenteeism almost always begins with the child: I'm too sick? Can I come home. I don't feel well? What's the point? Why do I have to? - and on it goes. Parents are busy people and so much is going on in any given day that sometimes the sheer amount of absences mounts up without anyone being really aware of how high it's getting. When the school gets in touch about it, parents are often genuinely very surprised at the totals, and it takes tham a while to figure out and remember all of the times it happened. By then it can be a difficult habit to break.
This year, for the first time, students and parents will be getting comprehensive quarterly attendance reviews (approx every 40 school days) to help.
Here are some resources to deal with these issues. If you can't print them off, the school would be more than happy to provide copies. They are now included in the welcome packs for all new students.
Sometimes attendance issues are a symptom of something deeper, and should be taken seriously. It is important to know why. If it goes on for too long, please contact your child's yearhead or talk to your child's GP.
